I know Yahoo users are not doctors, and I have an appointment Friday, but I just wanted a little moral support, I guess. We have been trying to get pregnant; I just got a series of shots and now am a week late. I even went and got a blood test last Friday, but it came out negative, so I had been waiting for my period, but it has never come. I know sometimes even blood tests can give false negatives. I have never ever missed a period since I started at age 11 1/2, so I am very excited but the negative result gives me doubt. But my hormones are kind of out of whack, which is why I had the shots, so I am thinking (and hoping!) I could still be pregnant. Any similar stories? Words of encouragement? Ideas for passing the long two days until my doctor's appointment? :)

I had a similar situation. About 3 days after my husband and I started trying for a child, I felt...different, I guess you could say. I told my husband "I'm pregnant." About a week later, I started taking home pregnancy tests. Every day. ANy kind you can think of, from the cheap generic ones, to the expensive digital ones. Negative, negative, negative. I took at least 20 tests! I started researching on the internet and found out that if your desperate to get pregnant, your body can actually go through the symptoms of being pregnant. My husband thought I had lost my mind. Pretty soon, I thought I was too! My period didn't come. More tests. Negative. Still didn't come. More tests, same results. Finally, over one week after missing my period, I took a test and yep. I was pregnant!
While I'm not saying 100 percent that you are, there is a good chance that you are. Don't get your hopes up too high in case you aren't. But there is a chance that you are. Missing your period is a good sign. You only have a couple of days, and any tests that the doctor gives you should come out and be accurate. If your impatient, go out and buy a pregnancy test. I used First Response to get my positive result, so that's what I recommend. *But remember, it might not be accurate as well*

GOOD LUCK

Well you could have not been pregnant last Friday yet - the seed might not have implanted yet but now it has.

For the future, if you chart to get pregnant you can know the EXACT day you are pregnant because of fluctuating temperatures.
There is a book on it that is wonderful:
It's called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
