Wow. I can't believe what I am hearing. The only people that say Eminem sucks are the people that don't listen to any of his other "unpopular" songs. By "unpopular" I mean the sh!t that you don't hear on the radio because we all know that most people with horrible taste in music only listen to current music that's played on the radio. He is a lyrical genius and there's a reason why he sells as many records as he does. Some of his underground tracks are even better! Don't be so close-minded, people. He is a phenomenal lyricist. He will be considered one of the greatest rappers ever, with time. He's definetly in my top 5, probably #3.

I would say Eminem is a respectable rapper. His lyrics come from things that have actually happened to him. And his music has more meaning. Most music in the rap genre has little true inspiration, and the music is composed by someone else (not the rapper himself) using soft-synth and often melody-less music, HIGHLY frowned upon in the world of music. This is why rap songs tend to get old fast...make sense?

I will give Em his props. He can flow although the last 3 or 4 singles have been less than inspiring. His verse on Akon's "Smack That" was hittin'. There are a few rappers out there who do it better though. It has nothing to do with race. It is all about the flow.

no one says it cuz hes not. its not about race-not to me anyways. he has some good stuff, i mean the man is crazy as what and hilarious! buuut, the past 2 albums have sounded like garbage to me. i mean what is up with that song 'fack'?! i cant get over that BS i cant believe he actually recorded that and put it on an album! i would say that he definently has opened doors for future rappers, but i wouldnt say he's the best out of all the rappers out there.

A lot of people say he is. Rapping nowadays is getting moved out by a blend with that godawful HipHop, and the original intent of rap is getting lost.

I believe in a lot of circles that race is a factor (the only factor) and Eminem does not qualify.

Because he's not. He's good, but he's a long ways from the best ever. It has nothing to do with race except maybe rap is actually music that is embedded in African American soul that comes direct from our roots in Africa. All humans on earth can trace their roots to Africa, it's just that the American African has a more direct line.

sslp was good, eminem show was aight, mmlp was some legendary ****, encore and curtain call was uuuhhhhh and re up was straight up crap, he went from saying real **** and spitting raw rhymes, to ******* jimmy crack corn and having g unit and 50 on like every single song.

plus even in his prime em wasnt the emcee that big, big l and big pun were, plus most people including bob would take pac's songs over most of em's especially ems new ****. dont get bob wrong, ems good and one of the best we got still walking, but he aint ill enough to be immortalized as legendary. if em were to bust another mmlp, then we can talk, but it dont look like its even going in the direction if he keeps up the pattern.

bob would put em in top 10 for both top 10 lyricist and top 10 bobs favorite rappers in a whole, but he aint come with enough fire to be in 5 especially when bob looks at his most recent albums.

yeah i think it has to do a bit with race...he is like the only white guy in a whole black industry...and things work differently when the rolls are reversed...

now i dont think anyone can be nominated as the best rapper ever...but i think he should be in any rap fans top 5...lets face it, the guy is very original and he has some major talent

Eminem. He is a good rapper, but i dont think people see him that way as he is white as most rappers are black.
But Eminem is tops.
