I have a big purse. I have a lot of stuff in it, but the important things, I keep up front and are easy to get to, but do employers look at my purse and think I'm carrying to much "baggage" and might call off a lot or think other things like that? Also, I don't wear makeup, do employers think that I'm lazy or with the combination of the purse and lack of make-up think I'm a mom that doesn't take care of herself and will be distracted from her job? I don't have kids, but I like to be prepared for anything, that's why I carry a big purse. I've been going to interviews and haven't had any leads, I've had a prefessional help me with my resume and I can't think of much else besides my deamenour (sp?) during the interview that might be turning them off. Do you think my big purse and l lack of make-up might be a "red flag"?

When I interview I look at what the person is wearing. If the person comes into the interview in jeans and tennis shoes, it tells me that they are not serious about the job. If you want to bring in your purse I would say put it on the floor or maybe just leave it in the car. The make-up issue isn't big as long as you don't look like you just woke up. I don't wear make-up myself because most of it I'm allergic to, so I wear a little eye shadow and mascara. Also I look for someone that smiles in an interview. If they don't smile that could mean many things. Another thing that might help is to sit down with a friend or a family member and pretend that you are in an interview. I know it sounds like a waste of time but it really does help. Find some answers on the Internet and have the person ask you them. Also have them make questions up as you go to catch you off guard. So remember to smile big and Good Luck!

Employers want to know if you are a professional. Look in the mirror and ask yourself: does this woman look like a professional?
Personally if I was interviewing I wouldn't care one way or the other about your purse size or makeup, but I can imagine that some people might. Maybe you could put your absolute necessities into a smaller purse for the interview?

As long as you are dressed appropriately, your purse size should not matter. Becareful with the amount of things in your purse, because you don't want to seem unorganized by having a whole bunch of stuff in your purse. Maybe take out the few things you won't be needing during an interview.
As for make-up, it's your personal preference not to wear it. No employer can require you to wear make-up. Just make sure your hair is neat, your nails are clean, and your clothes are in good condition and look nice. Remember that a first impression is everything when trying to get a job.

When you walk into an interview, only carry your resume, and maybe a stylish business folder, and your keys. Leave the purse in the car with your cell phone. It does not look professional to carry anything into an interview.
Make-up is another story. If you do not waer it, so be it, but you need to look groomed, not like you just got out of bed.
The less you carry the more professional you look.
Good Luck

It may not be right, but appearances do matter during a job interview. I would suggest buying or borrowing a smaller purse just for the interview (you can always leave the other purse with the rest of your stuff in your car). You should also wear a light amount of make-up...some mascara, lip stain, and powder would be enough, especially if you're not used to wearing make-up.
You want to still be yourself, just accent that professional side.

Get a small handbag for interview purposes and depending on the positions you are interviewing for - you may want to get a decent leather portfolio to carry clean copies of your resume as well as any work you have done which you could show to demonstrate your skills. If you are a person who can truly get away without makeup, that's fine. If not, go light with the makeup (definitely NOT heavy) and make sure your hair is not unkempt.

-basically placed on conservative or semi-formal outfits. In different words, no denims, tees or severe pores and skin and you're ok. (attempt a button down blouse and gown pants) -bathe in the previous the interview to make specific you're finding sparkling -attempt and shop your hair out of your face so that's no longer distracting you -Be calm and optimistic! they'll such as you. -additionally basically think of of what your solutions could be to specific questions in the previous the interview so which you would be nicely-arranged (and much less possibly to stumble over your words) Examples of questions: what's your terrific/worst high quality, Why might you prefer to artwork here?, How might you're making a sturdy asset to our place of work? Goodluck!! :)

a interview --> 20 % is your appearrance. So if possible do not bring something odd look like going for travelling.
Just dress normally like professional.
Make up not too much, but touch up.
At interview, do not lie be honest. Do not say anything bad at all.
Good luck with your interview

It really doesn't matter. I carry a backpack to my interviews. It is how you "sell yourself" to beat out the other candidates. What about the employees who are carrying a briefcase to an interview? Can't be signaling them out. so, don't you worry.
