me and my Fiancee been working off and on different places for like 5 years now and im 20 years old and shes 21, and we first started out on our own when we were just 17 and 18 years old, we had to get Food stamps to help us with food.

Just recently we had to quit our jobs since the place was being closed down for repairs and we tried to get food stamps again but the place told us that even though we arent' working at the moment that we are not eligible for Food stamps...yes i know people that are Jacked up on Cocaine and other substances and they get like $300-500 worth in food stamps.....Why are we having to live off water for the moment?
We do work..just no one wants to hire right away.

my actual question is..why do the government not want to aid hard working people such as my self and my lady but want to help those that don't want to work and get a buzz every so often?

for alittle info on us....we both are non-smokers and non-drinkers, and no kids.

Have you filed for unemployment? That should be your first "line of defense" -- as it were.

Most of the stuff you hear about people using food stamps for drugs are lies.

The best thing you can do is for both of you to sign up with several Temp agencies -- you can work temp jobs, and even if one of them doesn't become permanent, it'll give you income until you do find something.

You might also consider going to school -- Community College, if nothing else, for a start. Then on to a 4-year.

Do I think you should get help?

Yes, I do.

But the thugs are in charge these days, so you need to do what you can to take care of yourselves.

Most of the people who do get help also deserve it -- don't blame them.

Well, I think you exaggerate a little bit....they don't give food stamps to people because they are drug addicts. Some people who are addicts might be eligible - most aren't.

Besides, you are two young and healthy people...you can find work if you want to. There is always a burger to be flipped somewhere.. True, that may not be the most desireable job but would hold you over until the right thing comes along.
