To the normal folk, a brutal movie is just that. But serial killers's and other criminal patterns from movies have been copied in the past by not so sane people, and it goes on.
Is there anything that can be done or do we have to go "oh it's a free society"

Gosh man, understand the question, I am not saying that YOU are going to copy that, I mean, as you say, that it makes pshycos more creative. That's exactly my point Paul 1.

Anything too violent used to be banned in the past, what has happened to our society is that this country is going to hell in a handbasket.

I've watched loads of violent movies and played violent video games but i have never tried to copy any of them. There's a line from the movie Scream which i think is true and it goes something like this : "Violent movies don't create psychos, they make psychos more creative".

Violence in cinema is not responsible for violence in real-life. Film-makers are very respectful and aware of their percetion to influence youth or psychopaths. Knowing this, there is ALWAYS a message at the end of a picture as to why the violence was not the solution. If there wasn't, the film would not be funded, and thus, wouldn't be released. Now, it's up to the viewers to understand and recognize the message.

Most definitely it is influencing the younger generation. Look around and see how many very young people commit violent offences !!!!! I don't think these youngsters appreciate that there is no "point scoring" when shooting/knifing others.

I don't think that just one movie is a bad thing but I think where the problem lies is that its a constent scene. When the images are sent to your brain 20 times a day..it tends to stick with you.
