If it was first registered before 1st March 2001, it is taxed on engine capacity. There are only two bands for cars of that age - up to 1549cc and over 1549cc. Your car falls into the over 1549cc category, so annual tax is £180.

The new Group G at £300 per year only applies to cars registered after 23rd March 2006, and emitting more than 225g/km of CO2 on the EC combined cycle.

You can get all the info from the governement website, however I've also found http://www.whatprice.co.uk/car/car-tax.html has all the info needed on the tax bands, the latest budget changes and a lookup table for you car

Go to link 1 and choose your manufacturere and then model. Once there go to Technical data which will tell you tax band. Go to link 2 for info on Tax costs.

you must be brit... only 12 MPG cars here have gas guz tax. and u only pay once ,,when you buy it new.
