I just watched the one where he catches out the playboy using the gold beeper (if you've seen it you'll know which one)

Describe your favourite episodes (or whichever ones you can remember) in a similar way

The one where the wine buff kills his brother and columbo catches him out because all his wine goes off.

I prefer the original Columbo episodes to the newer ones. My favorites of that series are "Any Old Port in a Storm," with the guy from the winery who kills his brother, and the one with Ruth Gordon as the mystery writer. That ending is especially clever.
Woody: Not sure what you want me to describe, but it's one of the only ones where I know the title. Donald Pleasance plays the winery owner who kills his brother because he wants to sell the winery. He knocks him out, turns off the ventilation in the wine cellar and the brother suffocates. He then makes it look like the guy had a scuba accident.

I liked the episode when he caught William Shatner after committing murder. Shatner used a first generation VCR to help hide the time of the crime. Det. Columbo was fascinated by the whole idea of the VCR and asked how much it cost. Seems like it was $3,000 for the first model.

the one where an man wins the lottery but puts the money in his uncles account because he is going through a divorce and doesnt want the ex to get her mits on it, the uncle kills his nephew so he can keep the money.
