The same reason I was ignored as a teenager and still am as a young adult by people that are older then me the.World sees age as wisdom and sometimes this is true but younger people see the world in a different way because its a different world then our parents grew up in.listen to what older people have to say some can teach you a lot but don't give up on your own opinion It
does matter even if its hard to get somebody to listen

Part of the problem has to be the teens that are a bad influence. However, I think the older people are treating teens as they were treated which is an unfortunate thing. Also, it could be how the teen presents his or her opinion. If it's done with a surly attitude, I can understand it being ignored. I think it all depends upon the older person and the teen. I personally do listen to what teens say, but I work with them daily.

i dont think that all older people ignore what teens have to say, my thoughts is that we all have the same needs as human beings, and some grow old, yet never grow up', [adults], / /, wnen my son was in high school it flipped me out how some teachers labeled teens & many aduldts are just conditioned to not Listen', i was an active advocate for teens in many ways,, enjoy you're youth, follow you're passion, express youre-self, some adults may always ignore teens, the truth is that we all learn from eachother, no matter what age, / the mind is like a parachute; doesnt work unless its open.

because more often than not as the teenager experiences life, the opinion will change. You cant explain this to a teenager. But it really does fall back to "you will understand when you get older"

Just like you don't understand what cancer feels like until you have it.
You don't know what being a parent is until you have a child.

I agree with you. We do. We should be more open minded. In the same set, teenagers should listen to us a little more too. I know that teenagers have a lot to contribute. You make a good point.

basically, teenagers don't know too much. It is a fact. You will find out. When you are middle-aged and listen to teenagers, you will wonder if YOU were that ignorant when you were a teenager.

Not trying to be mean or rude, just stating a fact of life.

Up until puberty, kids are usually pretty reliable. When adolescence starts and the hormones are raging, emotional issues and wacky thinking takes over.

The best cure is surviving until the twenties, when a little bit of maturity sets in.

Try to be patient with yourself and your parents.

they have the opinion of a teen------when they become an adult, with years of experience behind them----then and older person might listen--!!!!!!! they just don't have the EXPERIENCE_!!!!!!! example---a 5 yr old has more knowledge than a 1 yr old---make sense to you at all--hope it did--without offending you.
