I wouldn't. You want your doctor to get a clean sample; you don't want it diluted with sperm.
Douching is bad, bad, BAD!!! A douche does not know the difference between bad bacteria and good. It kills both, leaving you prone to infections.

It's not bad to have sex before a gyno appointment, but it's better for the doctor if you don't because there will be irritation and discharge to occur when the exam is occurring.

If you are having a PAP you should not have sexual intercourse or douche for at least 24 hours prior to the exam as it can alter the test results. It does not make the exam more painful. Meantime douching is a BAD idea, you can actually force bacteria through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes resulting in an infection that can lead to infertility. The vagina should be considered a self cleaning unit.

Ummm, u didn't know that u're not suppose to have sex at least 3 days b/4 u go to the doc? They tell u that, at least they're suppose to. All the fluids and bacteria and everything from intercourse can result in a not very good reading if you're going for a pap. U have to "let it air out", so to speak. U want clear and accurate results right? Lock it up for 3 days. DAMN!!!!

You go to the Gyno for you, to protect you from Cervical Cancer. I can't think having sex the night before would do any good in helping the doctor, when he needs to swab your cervix for cancer cells, to detect those cells while accompanied with sperm cells present. I would think you can abstain from activity the day before for good measure. If it isn't bad, I know from working in the medical field, that under the microscope sperm cells are viable and detectable in urine specimens and do show up. So to not be embarrassed if you get embarrassed easily, It wouldn't be a good idea because they will be detected from that as well, dead or alive.

Well, medically I am not sure but you have gotten some good responses regarding that already. I can tell you that it is not comfortable if you do. When you have intercourse, there is a normal amount of brusing that happens for us woman down there. Nothing to be alarmed about but it does happen. So when you go to get a PAP done, it is not the best feeling with they stick that cold instrument up there with bruising.

I read before that you shouldn't have sex the day before because you have increased secretions and it can be harder to get a good sample for examination. I'm not a dr. though so I can't confirm that.
