I know this is bad!!! I am 37 weeks this week, and honestly, I am just miserable!!! I go to the doctor today at 4pm, and I want him to tell me he will induce me!!! Seriously...I have not slept in months, I have taken Ambien, a prescription benadryl, tylenol PM, everything possible. NOTHING HELPS ME TO SLEEP!!!
It is insane. I am going crazy. I am still working until next Friday (when I have spring break, I am a teacher)...and I am literally in tears from the time I get home to the time I try to go to sleep!!!
I cry to my husband for hours every night...I can barely move, let alone bend over, my belly is sooo big!!! I am having contractions, not regular, I use the bathroom twice an hour, and last week was 25% effaced and barely dilated, not even a cm. I dont know how much longer I can go on!!!
Help me!!! Please!!!

So sorry to hear it is this bad for you!! With my 1 st pregnancy i was also really fed up, at 28/29 weeks, with a lot of weight, huge belly and pain in my hips. Couldn't sleep, also. Else, was happy... kind of...
Take heart, sweetie and do not go down just when you're able to see the finish line. Just a little more and you'll have a wonderful baby to hold and love. It IS worthy, believe me. I am willing to feel all that again, in the last stages, just to see my baby's face.
How about turning to Nature? Walking a little, breathing fresh air, feeling the wind and the sun on your skin.Sorry, i do not know what else to say to you.
Hold on!

I agree with walking and sex... aside from the obvious, the activity will help get you to sleep, and the walks alone will help you sort out your head. I was induced and it was a looong, hard labor. I was 2 weeks over due and my daughter wasn't moving a whole bunch... they decided to just start me on the Pitocin and get me moving along. Almost 4 days later, I had my daughter.
Looking back, I'd rather have waited out that extra week (almost) at home miserable, than in a hospital hooked up to monitors and IVs, and not allowed out of my bed, and poked at every couple of hours to tell me nothing it happening so they're going to up the pain - I mean Pitocin - just to still have no progress... birth doesn't have to be a miserable experience too. These are going to be the last few days/weeks to yourself... I KNOW it's hard, but take advantage of them.

I completely sympathize with you. I am also 37 weeks, and I feel the same way. This is my third child and I am so ready. Problem is, he obviously isn't. I have to try and keep in mind that the longer he is in there the better he is. My husband keeps calling me selfish. Only a couple more weeks for us though. I'm due april 11th. I went into labor naturally at 38 weeks with my other two boys, hopefully this one I will too. I can hang in there another week!!! Good luck to you and congrats on your new addition!!!!

Obviously you need to start your maternity leave NOW! You are getting depressed and anxious and that is not good for your baby. Taking all those medications could be harming your baby right now, I'd say you should seriously consider getting another doctor.
You should be concerned about the health of your baby, so please take your mat leave, go get pampered to help you relax, take a preggo yoga class, ask your hubby to look after things at home, ask a girlfriend to go out for a coffee or something.

your doctor is probably not going to induce you at 37 weeks. mine induced me with my first one 10 days past my due date and the second one 3 days before my due date. i would suggest taking some evening primrose oil. it is supposed to help ripen the cervix when i started taking it at 36 weeks with my 2nd child i nothing was going on down there other than him being in the right position. when i went back at 37 weeks i was half way effaced and 1cm dialated. at 38 weeks i effaced some more and was 2cm. and then when i went back at 39 weeks. i was almost all the way effaced and still 2cm dialated and he made the appt for induction to be the following monday. i suggest trying to lay off all the medicine...use pillows prop them up all around you and just relax. you are probably so tense that nothing is going to happen with dialation.

Tell your doctor you want to be induced. My doctor told me that natural labor is highly overrated these days. My 3rd child was induced. It was more intense then the first two but shorter by far. All he can say is no.
