Like someone else on here said, I think they have the potential to be. Depends on the person and the emotion, and your own mood/emotions that day. Example, When you work right along side your bosses and they are fired up for whatever reason, it tends to rub off on you after having to be stuck there for 8 hours(This is why I am thankful that I'm a delivery driver, when it gets like this I can leave the building for 10-15 minutes at a to recharge myself)Then again its not a daily thing, that they are in crummy moods so I am too, just an occasional thing.
I'd like to think happiness and laughter are probably the most contagious emotions of them all. Next to yawning of course, but thats not an emotion :)

Well, I have heard of an "infectious" laugh and a "catching" smile...But I don't believe that all emotions are. If so, either hate or love would take over the world. I haven't returned all the hate or love directed at me, and I meet both cruel and kind people everyday. It is probably a good thing that they aren't contagious.
Now there are charismatic people that can induce strong emotions in others. Perhaps that is what you mean.

Yes, unfortunately is called passing energy. example-you and two friends are hanging out having a great time. A person in a bad mood joins the conversation, and before you know it you guys are arguing and and debating, it's because that bad mood was contagious, they transferred there emotion of being angry and uptight to you and who ever was receptive.
Peace
