Chicago news -> There was a brutal beat down in a bar the other night! by whom? A off duty cop and a bartender (female) he beat her as if she was a grown man. Mind you, she is only 5'4, and 120lbs, and he 6feet and fat! The thing that ticks me off, is they said that they "might" fire him! this government, must love to have dirty cops on their team! I used to get made when people called cops, "pigs", Now, I believe they have every right to call them pigs! cuz there are too many dirty cops in Chicago! If u cant trust a cop, an authority figure, someone who is went through intensive training to protect people, then u can u trust now days?? Do you agree there are a lot of dirty cops out there?

Certainly, I will not disagree that there are bad officers just like they're bad people in EVERY walk of life. However, the number of bad officers are certainly outnumbered by those who are good!
To state "they might fire him" is a typical response to the media simply stating...lets get the WHOLE story before making any decisions.
Don't put the cart before the horse. If the officer did wrong, he'll be punished one way or another!
Just as a side note....I did a bit MORE research to help relieve you of some anguish at the system...the below is an excerpt of interest...
"The Cook County State's Attorney's Office has charged Anthony Abbate, 38, in connection with the attack. Abbate was arrested at his home on Chicago's Northwest Side Tuesday night.
Chicago police officials say Abbate has been stripped of his police powers and the department will seek to fire him. His attorney has refused to comment on the case."

Yes there are alot of dirty cops. The department will always help there officer out. Here in the NY area they just had a big thing go down the officers that killed a groom on his wedding day were indicted on 8 charges. Look up the Sean Bell.

he was on a power high. There are many dirty cops out there in every nook of the country. Too bad the people who are suppose to monitor cops are a bunch of idiots. This guy better be in jail.

not having read the article ... what were the circumstances of the beat down? was there a weapon involved or a threat or what? I know sometimes everyone is capable of excessive reaction. This in no way excuses his actions if there was no provocation or reason involved but the department is right in saying they "might" fire him untill an investigation into the surrounding circumstances of the event is concluded.

"A lot" would insinuate "most"...So...No. There's not a lot of dirty cops out there...
The problem is the media...They don't print the everyday-feel good stories of the good cops. The media want's excitement and uproar of the people so they "hunt" for the bad-cop stories and make a huge deal out of it. As a result...Everyone thinks we have nothing but bad cops running around.

Yes! I believe there are some dirty cops and some good cops. I think dirty cops should be off the streets and good cops awarded for there honesty.

Yup there are alot of dirty cops. Its digusting like you said that people that we are suppose to be able to trust can sometimes be the ones doing the dirty. Its wrong!
