yes there is but need to know what BIOS you have(Award, AMI Bios, Phoenix) if you have onboard audio and you put pci audio card it disables on board itself

if you want to disable the sound for bios only there should be a setting called "bios settings" or something similar which has that feature.

to disable sound from all system applications, just disable the sound card.

well if you mean your onboard soundcard yes it would be able to disable via the bios, but it depends on your bios, it would say audio controller

not sure about laptops but there normally is in the bios of a desktop. can you specify the make and model of your machine

i didnt see it on my BIOS. did you know that bios is your cmos? the setup utility, thats what my computer teacher said be4
