i'm having some thoughts of quiting my present job. i used to work for a private drug testing lab, admin. department. i used to have good benefits, higher pay, own office, computer & fone, full time hours & very nice people around me. it was very busy & stressful & management there really sucked so i decided to quit & then finally got a job at the city. my present job isn't my thing - all i do here is enter codes - not challenging AT ALL!!! i'm not even using the skills & knowledge that i've learned from school so its kinda useless for me & i'm not happy here. i always thought that working for the city is a great thing, but now i realized that this job that they offered me is not the one for me.

my boss (from my previous job) told me that i'm still welcome to come back to work for them if ever i change my mind. my co-worker told me that the girl they hired to replace me quit after 2 days of working there coz she can't do my job. should i go back to my previous job or not? help!!

i actually left my previous job so i can focus on my upcoming licensure exam (for Occupational Therapy) but i just found out from the Association of OT here in Alberta that i'm not qualified to write the exam on july coz i need to go back to school coz its been 5 years now since i graduated. the job that i have right now is just a casual position but its still not my thing. i really loved my previous job and i know that i should've done something to get the management do their job to solve their problems and issues.

I think you should! We had a woman leave for a higher paying job and she ended up coming back because she just loved our company. I think you should talk with the previous employer and she if the offer still stands and go back!

You left there for a reason. You claim that management sucked, and from the sound of it, nothing has changed.

You need to be honest with yourself, and decide whether or not you want to go back into that type of environment.

They true sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting to get a different result.

Good Luck.

If I were you I'd look for a different job that utilizes your skills unless your really okay with going back to a job that you disliked enough to leave. Any relief you feel will probably be short lived. Definitely do something else though if you feel you're cabable of more.

Ultimately it comes down to your happiness. If you are'nt happy, it does'nt matter what job you work. Go back or find the challenging job you yearn for.

It entirely up to you. Think of the pros and cons of both and make your decision from that; Where ever you feel happiest should matter;
