Same job will cost $189 at the Honda dealer.

hi, midas... wow....the offer is just a base price. for sure additional work or parts will be needed. whatever they will tell you, just make sure that it is really true. like the rotors are too thin and must be replaced with a new one. the rotors will have min thickness printed on it. have them measure it with you looking at the measuring device. whatever reading you get, minus 10thousanths of an inch and should equal or thicker than the printed min thickness. if equal then it is still useable. same goes with the drums diameter. then they will want to charge you for the shims and other things. so padlock your wallet. get an out the door price before getting the job. this is why i do my own car repairs.

The 89.99 is just a scam. I guarantee you, they will find something else wrong and it will cost you over $500 when they finish. You will probably need new brake rotors because your rotors are too thin to polish. They pull this on me all the time. Watch out for the scam artists.....

just for pads, should be $30 for parts and charge one hour labor, $80-$100, so if the $89 offer is for labor and parts that is a good deal.

last time I knew.........
the estimate was Cv joints bad.timing belt bad, engine rear seal leaking badly. total 1700 dollars

then I said ,wait a minute I only stop for a quick oil change,I am a mechanic my self!!!(just me being lazy)
they even call me to see under the car ,the huge amount of oil my car was leaking,
I only put my hand in the oil pan ,soak my hand in that oil, and tell them THIS IS REGULAR OIL and I only use SYNTHETIC Oil in this car.

floridaman's got the answer. It's the old bait and switch routine.

All those chains pull that crap on you. They use the discount price to draw you in. Once your car is up on the lift, they lift your wallet.
