I'm sure it has already been said but it bares repeating; The BEST way to learn bellydance is through live teaching.

There is a seemingly endless source of DVD our there for you to try some companies that produce videos you might want to look into include World Dance New York, and IAMED as both companies provide wonderful instructional videos.

The instructional videos the bellydance superstars put out are also good but I've heard a few beginners complain that both Jillina and Sonia focus to much on teaching choreography and not enough on the movements themselves (in their videos).

There is also a company called natural journeys that has quite a few bellydance oriented videos that are so-so, just make sure you understand these are fitness videos and the instruction is not always through or completely accurate.

I do not recommend Dolphina's videos, as she often teaches movements wrong, in a harmful way, or just makes things up as she goes.

You can find a list of books here:http://www.shira.net/reviews.htm#HowTo but I have never personally tried learning bellydance through any of these.

Online tutorials include:

http://www.trybellydance.com
http://www.shira.net/howtomove.htm

You can also try youtube and google video for a few clips, or tribe.net for written tutorials.

Buy a dvd. Book learning will only get you so far - and I can't figure out belly dancing just by reading about it.

There are DVDs out there. You could see if your local library has some. Also, if you have cable, check out FitTV. I have seen belly dancing classes on one of their programs.

Well since you have no money, i don't think you'd be buying dvd's. I took classes when i wanted to learn how to bellydance. Where do you live? Because my school has a free bellydance club : )
