well you would login into the router using the ip address eg 192.168.1.1 or whatever ip address is for the linksys box
then you would goto wireless and turn on WPA security enter a good passphrase that is numbers and letters.
save this, and then goto your laptop scan for wifi networks acess your ssid, and enter the passphrase and that will get you connected secure.

you first will need to configure the router for having a "Mac Address" filter..... and then set up a 64 or 128 encryption on your router.. just consult your manual...then on your laptop search for your wireless network and connect to it and enter the encryption key to access your security enabled network
