Go to any 3 world country and you will find that the clothes they wear are what you are looking for.. Not only can you pick up a whole wardrobe for $.25 you will be feeding some sorry souls for an entire month, and although you may think they are used clothes they are really all brand new.

Ethnic clothing stores are everywhere. Indian import stores,
boutiques specializing in exotica from Bali, China, Indonesia,
etc. Most stores featuring natural fibers will carry some
pieces you can coordinate with others. If you live near a
big city, go to the library and look up "ethnic clothing".
One store will probably recommend another, etc. There
are belly-dancing retailers on line that have great belts
and other scarves that can go over Indian skirts and as
vests are hot this year, you can look for vintage men's
in thrift stores, adding jewelled pins and old lace to
make the look unusual. If you're ever in Carmel, Calif.,
you can go to Absolutely Fabulous or down the Big
Sur Coast to Nepenthe's boutique, The Phoenix.
Peace out.

If you are trying to truly be earth friendly, you shouldn't buy retail. It's best to buy from Salvation Army or Goodwill type thrift stores, where the profits go to helping in the communities. Plus, it can just be really fun to find great vintage things for so little money.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I LOVE that style too! To find the best stuff, go to urbanoutfitters.com. They have the best stuff ever. The whole entire store is dedicated to this look. It is a little pricey but not as much as Abercrombie and Fitch. You can find good deals in the clearance section too! Have fun! (Also check out Goodwill. You can sometimes find cool stuff hidden in the junk!!!)

on line, most of the styles you spoke about are snapped up at thrift stores. Modern retro styles are usually machine washable and dry-able. Be careful with vintage clothing as the are not flame retardant. In any case when you find the style you are looking for........have fun.

i personally love the wide selection at plato's closet. check for one in your area. also shop at various stores to mix and match what styles you like best and jewlery is a big part. for earthy and glam combo try some nice in style clothes with earthy colors and earthy make up. boheimian jelery has alot of big beads. hippes were jewlery like gypsys and try a bandana. hope this helps.
