I am using the clear blue ovulation test. The one that gives you a smiley face when you have a LH surge (meaning you will ovulate in 12-36 hours) and then no smiley face when you are not having a surge. I got the smiley face yesterday morning and the no smiley face this morning. Does this mean I already ovulated? Or should we have sex again tonight to increase our chances? I just am not sure once the surge goes down if your chances are over. By the way my husband and I had sex the 14th and the 18th and 19th but not yesterday. any advice or comments.

The odds are that you are ovulating now/will ovulate sometime today. You need to get busy and have sex to ensure there is sperm waiting for the egg when it is released. The LH surges and then starts falling sharply. When the surge reaches it's peak ovulation happens on average 36 hours later. Most women see only 1 positive OPK per cycle and that is almost always the day BEFORE ovulation.

Have sex tonight! Better safe than sorry, right? I believe those hormones tell you when the egg should be released, but I don't believe it moves too fast. I can't remember what sticks I used, but it worked for me. A very fertile woman once told my sister-in-law to have sex every other day for a month to get pregnant. Sounds like a lot of work to me, especially when you really only have a two day window to work with. (Basically, saturate the area with sperm. What do you have to lose?) If you've been trying for awhile, see your doctor. I was put on Clomid, which was supposed to build a stronger egg. It's a hormone, so watch out! It does work! Good luck and have fun!

Because you did it on the 19th. The sperm can live almost 5 days inside your fallopian tubes. So if you did ovulate yesterday you can still get preggo.

Good Luck!
