OKay, I have a super important question that I would really like an answer to please!? I know this is awful, but it happened. I took plan B on Monday evening, probably around 9:30-10P, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex yesterday morning around 11:30A and he accientally "came" inside me. Would the morning after-pill still have been in my system and prevent anything from happening (such as pregnancy)? Or do I need to go to the doctor and get another morning after-pill to take today? Also, how bad are these pills for you? Is it bad to take them often? Do you know how bad it affects your menstrual cycle? Please let me know if I need to go to the doctor, I have 2 hours before lunch and I have to go then! Thank you!!!!!

silly, silly girl!!! :) what were you thinking, having unprotected sex again so soon after a scare?

but like you say, 'it happened'...

the morning after pill is *emergency* contraceptive. it's meant to be there for accidents like burst condoms, or rape, or one off mistakes, not for regular use.

and that's because, yes, it's not very good for you. it's a really high dose of similar hormones that are contained in the pill, so it messes about with your body's natural rhythms, and is kind of like having a very early abortion. it will affect your cycle, when you are fertile as well as when you are bleeding, which will make having unprotected sex even more risky. i really don't know how long the hormones from morning after pills stay in your system. i know that they don't provide protection for the rest of the cycle, but i'm not sure about so soon... so go see your doctor to make sure.

if you are having regular sex with you boyfriend, and don't want to have a baby, then you really need to be responsible about this, and sort yourself out with some contraception. even if your boyfriend manages to withdraw every time before he comes, it's not a very reliable method of preventing pregnancy, as his lubricating fluid contains sperm. and you've no protection against STDs. and the morning after pill is not 100% effective either.... you could take it and still end up pregnant!

btw, you ask will it prevent anything from happening "such as pregnancy"? there's nothing else that it CAN prevent from happening!!! lol

OK, first off why would you have done it again unprotected if you had taken the morning after pill because you DIDNT want to get pregnant? Secondly, there is no proof that the morning after pill is really "bad" for you, but you should not use it as a form of birth control. The pills cause a lot of extra hormones in your body and it isn't good for you, for some women it can cause them to feel nauseous, have irregular periods for months and more...I would guess that it would still work because both incidents were so close together, but you may try calling planned parenthood and ask them.

to find a local one go to.

The morning after pill is fairly safe, it shouldn't upset your menstrual cycle too much, but I wouldn't recommend taking it several times a week. I do not think that the one you took
on monday would still be in effect, so I suggest that you go get a new one!

Nothing happened "accidentally". Darling, what are you doing? On one of your trips to the doctor to get "morning after pills", why don't you ask him to put you on the pill??? Your cycles will be regulated, and you won't have to worry about pregnancy. In the meantime, please use condoms or better yet, practice abstinence.

I think that you shouldn't take that pill. You are having sex, and you need to take responsibility for your actions. You know that it is a living person once conceived, the morning after pill could be killing a baby.

yes you should go to the doctor. I don't know if he will give you another plan B, but he CAN prescribe you birth control which will prevent these problems in the future!!

Tell your doctor what happened and let him advise you on what's safe.

Then ask for a birth control prescription, so you don't have to go through this again.

planned parenthood could answer your questions. they know all about this stuff and they always get questions. my friend knew the number by heart and they knew her voice on the phone b/c she called just that much. look up a planned parenthood in your city and give them a ring.
