You can purchase starter plants and re pot them to larger pots, or replant them in the yard. Or you can start them from seeds. Read the directions, be sure to get plants that will grow in your region.

The first step in starting a garden is to pick a space. Since your plants, flowers, or food will need sunlight, you will want to select an area that receives an adequate amount of it. This area can either be large or small, depending on the size of your garden.
You may also want to make sure that this area is not in the way of your other activities. Developing your garden in a fairly secluded area will help to reduce the risk of destruction.

First you need a place to plant things, you'll want to turn the soil and pick out large rocks either by hand or with a tiller. If you don't have a place to do this, you can buy pots and have plants growing in them. I recommend going to a garden store and buying plants but you can start your own plants from seed. Notice what the leaves on your plants look like and pull out any weeds that grow. Keep your plants watered and they should give you a summer of flowers.

Go to a garden center. They will tell you what to do, in detail. They have the pros that do this for a living.

i suggest you got to Lowe's and buy wood to box in a selected area of your yard.be sure to dig up all the grass right to the roots. Buy good fertile soil (preferably organic) and select some nice variety of flowers from Lowe's or a flower shop. (you don't need many for it to look nice) be sure you know how much light the designated area gets and buy flowers accordingly. once you get home take the flowers out of containers and lightly tug roots apart a little. dig a good size hole and plant a good size apart. be sure to know how much water each type of flower needs and maybe do an on line search or ask at a flower market.
