John Carpenter's Village of the Damned was an English language 1995 science fiction–horror film directed by John Carpenter.
It was a remake of a 1960 film of the same name, both ultimately based on the novel The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham, although this version is a heavily Americanised version, where the book and original film were both set in Great Britain.
It starred Christopher Reeve (in what would be his last leading role in a feature film before the horse riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of his life)
