Of course there is. Consider the dealer buys from the manufacturer for $1 and needs to sell it to the end user and make money. He marks it up by probably 30% (30 cents) and sells it.

Manufacturers make things and dealers sell them. Everybody needs to make money to survive the transaction; including the dealer.

If you think you can buy for dealer cost, go for it. I wouldn't like to do that and then call the dealer for support or service. If they don't make money, they don't service or support... unless you know the owner of the dealership.
