It is possible that you are pregnant, but of course you should see a medical professional, regardless of a home pregnancy test's results.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic; most antibiotics will cause estrogen-based daily birth control options (Loestrin, etc.) not to work.

Depending on the sensitivity of the OTC test you used, it could be incorrect. Most, however, are accurate from the time of the missed period. If the test was an "early detection" test (usable up to five days before the missed period), more than likely you are not pregnant. If you took the test a day after your missed period, and then again a couple weeks after, and the results are still negative, you are more than likely not pregnant. False negatives are VERY rare. (Again, GO TO THE DOCTOR!)

Again, go to your doctor as soon as possible. Even if you do not have a health care provider or insurance, Planned Parenthoods or other pregnancy resource centers will provide comfortable atmospheres and accurate pregnancy testing. Definitely choose somewhere you will be comfortable and only go with someone who will be supportive of you in every way. (I advocate non-religious based women's health clinics, because they will give you the most accurate information with the least clouding of any issues.) Counselors can give you honest and non-judgmental advice about what to do if you are pregnant. If you are planning to carry to term, it is essential to get the advice of a medical professional on diet and self-care for every part of your pregnancy.

A few scattered words on pregnancy and menstruation: 1) It is possible to have a period that is late at any age, no matter if you've been as regular as a Swiss watch up until that point. It's possible that if you are somewhat stressed about the possibility of being pregnant, even if it is a welcome pregnancy, that your period will start late. Stress, whether over an exam or relationship or possible pregnancy, has a mean tendency to mess with our monthlies. 2) If this is your first pregnancy, about a month and a half after your last menstrual cycle, you may begin to feel very queasy with so-called 'morning sickness' which unfortunately has free reign to hit you at any time of the day. Ginger ale with real ginger, crackers, almonds, Jell-o, and other bland foods will be your friend during this time.

I hope this was informative. :) Let us know any further informtaion that you'd like to share.

It could be wrong. See your doctor. It also could be right, as it sounds as if you are fairly stressed out and stress can affect your cycle. Take another test a couple days after you took the last one. If you are preggo, the preg. hormone needs time to build up to show a bfp. Good luck!

First of all you have just done a lot to your body and this could be causing your body to change a little. 2nd of all yes the test could be wrong you should retake it in about another week. But with everything you have just done your body could be stressed and stress can cause your period to act different.
