I might be moving to San Francisco in August, but our decision will be made on $ factors. How much is a 2 bedroom apartment in San Fran? If you live there, do you like the city? How are living costs?

I saw Half Moon Bay on a map and was wondering if its a good place to live?

Yah it's pretty pricey. A 2BR can be anywhere from 1200-2500/mo. See Craigslist's SF ads:

If you have a car, parking can be a pain, and be prepared for the hilly roads! But, you can always use public transport, like BART.

If you're open to living outside the city and commuting, there are plenty of choices. Berkeley, San Rafael, Daly City, Union City, Burlingame, San Bruno, Half Moon Bay, Palo Alto, etc. I used to live in the Bay Area and it's a very diverse, energetic place to be.

I think $1,500 is a bit optimistic for a 2 bdr in SF. Half moon bay seems okay (I've only driven through), but understand the beaches in and around SF are usually cold and foggy. I think it would be an okay place to live, just want to make sure you don't think you'll be outside catching rays every afternoon.

It depends on location, but start at around $1,500 for a small place and go up from there.

It's a great place to live if you can afford it. You might consider living just outside the city, either south (Colma/Daly City) or across the Bay (Berkeley or parts north).
