great!

here are a couple of things that you might want to plan out:

First and foremost - where are you going to rehearse and how many times per week? who will host the rehearsals, provide transportation if necessary and refreshments if needed?

musicians - how many, which instruments and who owns the equipment?

microphones, amps, mixer - do you own them or can you borrow or rent them?

singers - will everyone get to sing or will you audition for the singing parts?

recording media - will you record the songs you have written and if so, you need some way to get them from your garage or basement out into the world.

gigs - see if a local teen hangout would be willing to let you play for them or to host a "battle of the bands" where you and others like you can share your talents.

good luck and ROCK ON!

Listen to as much music as you can get, whether or not it's from the genre that you're planning on playing in. I'd say get as much Dead Kennedys, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Muddy Waters, Prince Jimi Hendrix (obviously), Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, etc. Just look up genres of music on wikipedia or something then download influential bands from that genre. Obviously, you need good instrument players. The guitarist for Dead Kennedys held auditions for each member of the band when he started. Stay commited, and NEVER, EVER become ignorant about the kind of music you listen to. My library has everything from Slipknot to Bessie Smith. Good luck ;)

Well you need to gather some musicians to play in your band. These should be people that like the same music that you are writing, and that you can get along with. They should also have the same dedication level that you have. Then practice, practice, practice. Write some songs, get them down cold, then you can start playing gigs.
