Yea. Just excercise after the 6 weeks is up and watch what you eat. It takes time to lose the weight. Congrats by the way!

Yes, most women look about 4 months pregnant after delivery. How soon you lose the weight has a lot to do with how good of shape you were in before you got pregnant. Usually you shouldn't exercise until after your 6 week check up, but confirm this with your doctor at your 2 week check up. Also, most women retain some fluid during pregnancy, which takes about 1-2 weeks to go away. If you breastfeed, you will burn about an additional 300 calories per day. Aside from that, just eat healthy. Remember, it took your body nearly 10 months to prepare for the growing baby inside you. You can't expect everything to go back to normal in just a few days or weeks.

I was told that when you leave the hospital you will still look about 5 months pregnant. I assume it will take some time for everything to back to normal. Our bodies spent 9 months stretching and growing to get that way, so I would assume things will slowly go back to normal. As for baby weight I was told the average is 6 months to get back to normal.
Good luck and try not to get down on yourself, you have been through quite an ordeal. LOL, in a few weeks you will probably be on here telling me to do the same thing.
Congrats on the baby too.

Shocking, isn't it? Yes, you do 'still look pregnant' after you have had your baby ... and you will have to do 'more exercise' and 'aim it at your 'big belly' if you want to get back to 'looking really good' again ... but it will take anywhere from three months to a year or more ... and you should NOT start right now, since you are still 'in recovery after the birth' ... after you have gone back for your 'six weeks check-up' with your OB/GYN doctor, then you should 'start doing some exercise' ... but you may already notice 'things getting better' and just not do anything except all of the 'extra stuff' you'll be doing anyway, to take care of the 'new little one.'

looking pregnant after having your baby is the one thing abut your body that you can guarantee. To lose that look you need to start working out and doing shaping exercises like crunches and in my case leg lifts for those pregnant thighs. Most women can't lose weight and inches until they have three regular periods, it has something to do with your pregnancy hormones. But don't let that discourage you, getting into a routine as soon as possible will help. Good luck!, and Congrats on the new baby!!

I did!! Not easy, I know... after 9 months of seeing yourself getting larger and larger, you can't wait to go back to what you were, right?! Well, i took it really slowly and eventually lost all the weight i gained (20 kg...). But now, pregnant with my second daughter and already with a LOT of weight, I will go back to the gym as soon as possible!! It helps and I miss it a lot.
Cheer up ! I got myself to my previous shape once and I'll do it again, no matter how much weight I put on ! Congrats on the baby ! Enjoy the miracle of motherhood :-)

Congrats on your bundle!
Sadly yes that belly can stick around for almost six weeks. About the weight, my Oma likes to say "nine months on, nine months off."
You just had a baby, take it easy and don;t worry too much about the weight right now, worry about getting enough rest, healing and getting comfy in your new role in life instead, it'll come off over time as it is supposed to.

yes its normal... exercise will help but i suggest waiting until you have rested a little before starting major exercise. maybe after 6 wks, try doing ab exercises and walking with the baby in the stroller in a local park, just the little things help if you want to begin now, just be cautious of weather. warm sunny weather take a short stroll, dont worry too much over it you can lose it in due time... good luck..

Yes you still look a little bit pregnant usually it'll go down on its own not as flat as you had it before you pregnancy though. You could also start excising after 2 months of giving birth and you should be back on track.

Alot of us have this preconceived notion that once the baby is out I will get my body back... Then reality smacks us in the face!
It takes a while for our body to bounce back from having a baby... It varies for each person... Exercising is really important... Incorporate it slowly so you don't exhaust yourself... Then increase the amount over time.. Eating healthy is important to...
Just relax and enjoy your baby for a while.... Congrats to you
