*Hairbow/Brush
*Chap Stick
*Camera
*Change for vending machines
*Loose out fit to go home in

For the baby:
*Baby Album (so they can put the baby's footprints in your book)

*Socks
*Blanket
*Carseat

At the hospital they will give you shampoo, maxi pads, deodorant, toothbrush and paste.
They will most likely give you a diaper bag. Don't take diapers and wipes or bottles cause they will furnish those things too. There is no need in packing so much stuff. Just take what you need. Good luck and congrats!

I see that you got a lot of good suggestions on here. One thing that maybe no one else thought of that you could add was a fan. I was incredibly hot when I was having my first child. SO, I took it along for the 2nd one. I only used it a little when he was born and it was summer time then too.

I didn't read everything that everyone said, but I'd take of course, a video camera, regular camera, change, cell phone or telephone calling card. baby clothes and diapers, maybe a hair dryer since I doubt they have one in the hospital. loose clothing for yourself and indoor shoes. Something to drink during or after labor. I drank some soda and it tasted SO GOOD afterwards. If you forget anything, I'm sure your husband or parents can bring it for you when they visit. No biggie. ENJOY yourself. This is a special time. Enjoy your new baby. He or she will NEED YOU so MUCH! Try to get some sleep. haha

And last but not least, you'll need to have a good baby car seat already in the car for your baby's first ride! Of course, you probably have this already.

Socks
Something to wear home (something that fit at about 6 months preg)
camera with extra batteries
something for the baby to wear home
car seat
toiletries
pillow (if you have a hard time sleeping on "foreign" pillows)
Our hospital had a hospitality room where dads could get drinks and crackers, but if yours only offers a vending machine I'd suggest packing a six pack of soda and some snacks for dad.

I packed too much. Bring an outfit for the baby, a sweater or coat depending on the weather. An outfit for you to wear going home, it is recommended an outfit from when you were 6 months pregnant. Toothbrush, hair brush, hair clip.

I packed a robe and nightgown which I too for no reason because I was in the hospital gown and that's it till I went home.

Outfits for the baby (something cute to have a pic taken), a carseat, a few diapers, baby book, cameras, and a blanket (the hospital provides most of what you will need for baby in the hospital) Also pack everything you will want for yourself, including all your own toiletries, maybe your own pillow, obviously stuff to wear home, a robe, and stuff to do. It can take a long time...so a book, and magazines, crossword puzzles, things of this nature, very important.

Bring a set of clothes to go home in(I wore my PJs home)
Chapstick(your lips can get chapped while you're pushing)
CDs (if your hospital allows relaxing music during labor)
Your favorite pillow.
Clothes for the baby to wear home.

Other than that I don't think anything. The hospital provides pads, disposable underwear, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and anything else you'll need until you get ready to go home. I also got a pack of diapers, baby wash, etc... to bring home with the baby.

I wouldn't reccomend bothering to wear your own underwear for the first couple of days, or your own pads. I bled so much that it would have just added up to more laundry for me after I got home.

Good luck, I hope you have a quick and easy delivery!

i packed my robe, slippers, some comfy clothes and shoes to wear home, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and whatever else you want....for the baby, i recommend that you bring 5 or 6 pairs of sleepers to wear on the baby in the hospital, although they supply these things, but my baby broke out in a really bad rash from the detergents they use at the hospital....plus diapers, wipes, carseat, something for the baby to wear home......

-Nursing nightgown and robe (you won't want to stay in that hospital one with everyone coming by)
-sweats for going home (you will still look pregnant....i know...very frustrating!)
-toiletries
-camera/video camera
-phone/phone numbers/phone charger
-outfit and a hat or two for the baby to come home in
-pillow (made me feel more comfortable)
-slippers/house shoes
-extra panties-comfortable ones
-nursing bra-one that will allow more room for when your milk comes in
-snacks-mostly these were for hubby, lol.
-I brought my ipod and used it a little during early labor to help me to relax

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Try not to pack TOO much, but having some of the extra things really helped me out. If I think of more, I will add them.

Good luck and take lots of pictures, because things will be a blur....My husband kept videotaping random moments before and after the delivery....I kept getting annoyed with him, but the videos are so neat to watch now and in the years to come.

Here's what I can think of at the top of my head and what I've read in books:

-Insurance info
-Heavy socks and socks with rubber soles
-Couple t-shirts for labor and afterwards
-Books and Magazines for you and your partner
-Long robe for walking around
-Nursing Bras if you plan to nurse
-Undergarments for you
-Toiletries (Brush, toothpaste, toothpaste, shampoo, etc)
-Ponytail holders if you have longer hair
-Pads
-Glasses if you wear them
-diapers for baby
-Snacks like granola bar or something
-Spiral notebook or some type of notepad
-Camera and Film of course :)
-Telephone numbers
-Change and extra money for vending machines and such

Also it never hurts to add a couple little extra things like sewing stuff or CD player and such. If you look at something and think "Am I going to need this?" Just pack it anyway lol.

You will need: Anything that will help you relax during labor
Chap stick, snacks for dad (so he doesn't have to leave the room to go eat), nursing bra and nursing pads if you plan to breast feed, PJ's for you, slippers, about 4 pairs of OLD panties ( they can get messy), socks, a sleeper or two for baby ( I would bring preemie and newborn sizes, my daughter was term and still wore preemie sizes for about two weeks), a car seat when it is time to go home, anything to keep you entertained while baby is sleeping and you can't, toiletries, glasses if you wear contacts, and clothes for you and baby to go home in (maternity for you trust me on this). There are also a bunch of website to look at:
