of course it doesnt mean you will repeat. you will repeat if you play flawless basketball throughout the tournament. just because a team returns five proven starters from a championship doesnt mean they cant be beat. any of these teams can be beat by any good team on any given day. it wouldnt surprise me if butler beat florida. if you remember in 2000, UF needed a buzzer beater by mike miller to take out butler in the first round. Florida went to the championship that year as a 5 seed. i think florida will advance but watch out for Butler! I also think UCLA will beat Florida in a rematch. If Kansas gets there they too will beat UF in a rematch from earlier this year. I think UF will make it to the final four and lose there.

There is absolutely zero correlation between the Maryland women's basketball team and the Florida men's basketball team. They play two completely different sports.

Having said that, five returning starters is no guarantee that Florida will repeat. You have to get hot at the right time. My guess is that if Florida can get to the Final Four, they will repeat as champions. It can be done.

Returning 5 starters from a National Championship team from last year doesn't necessarily mean another guaranteed win. For all we know, the team's cohesion could have plummeted or their attitudes towards winning it all last year isn't the same as this year's attitude. Yes, having 5 returning starters is a coach's dream come true, but in the end you need to have all of your players in the right mindset if you plan on pulling it off again.

I don't think that returning starters mean anything, except they may have the same team as last year. That team may have to meet up with a team that they didn't even play last year and that other team may have the best. ie...new players or more improved players. I don't see Florida with the championship this year. It is going to be good basketball though...

Only another example... women's basketball is on a different level of fundamentals than men's basketball and the difference between the top and the bottom is a lot closer in the female game. Yet, it is still college and all it means is one bad game (29 turnovers for the Lady Terps and 45 Points off T.O.s for Ole Miss) means you can be gone very quickly from the tourney.

of course returning 5 starters doeesnt mean youll repeate. You may have all ur starters but othere teams have brought in bigger and bettter talent to replace the ones that left.

Man, I was really ticked off when Maryland lost to Ole Miss of all schools, but it just goes to show you how hard it it to repeat, since you have a target on your back. It's amazing that UConn got 3 straight.

Yes it doesn't mean you automatically repeat, the players have to have the same desire and hopefully no injuries and just be playing their best basketball at the right time........ Florida is still defending champs until they're beat though!!!!!
