The pros are everyone is dressed alike so no competition on who has what name brand, all that stuff. They all look nice.
The cons are there is no individuality. I have always been one to dress different and hope my grrls will follow... But with my luck they will be into all the popular fashions..

Students go to school to learn not to display who can wear the best or more expensive clothes, it also distract student from focusing on their goal, which is learning. Having the freedom to wear what you want will frustate those who can't afford expensive clothes, it ultimately influence students' friendship and it can encourage other to wear inappropiate clothes that are too revealing, it also can encourage a lot of student to humiliate and tease others who are not able to afford expensive stuff.
The good thing about uniforms is that by wearing a school uniform students take pride to represent their school throug the uniform, it avoids all the negative things I mentioned before and it can also allow the school to enforce rules of proper dress code to all students. Wearing a school uniform can bring memories for a lifetime of the school years. Creativity can be shown in the class and school assignment not on their clothes.

Pros:
-Students get discouraged when they show up in just t-shirts and jeans when everyone else is following trends
-It's a distraction to the people in the class room when someone makes a comment about someone elses shoes (whether good or bad) and it begins a chain of comments to other people
-Everyone wears the same thing and everyone looks just as nice or silly in them
-No one will have to get up early to pick out what they want to wear
-Either way no one is going to remember what you wore 10 years from now
Cons:
-Some people see it as an outlet to express ideas and creativity
-No one would stand out as being unique in a class
-Best dressed for the year book will no longer be needed is one less thing someone can win before they graduate
-School dress code violations will happen more often when someone refuses to wear the uniform

Pro:
Clothing can be distractive to some, especially if it is loud, or attracts attention such as belly shirts, short skirts and such. School uniforms are usually more affordable than the stylish clothes that children beg to wear.
Con:
Each child should be able to express his individual style through his/her clothes as long as it is not distractive to other students. In SC, if a school requires uniforms, the parent can opt-out by signing a form. Your child may decide that he doesn't like sticking out like a sore thumb and decide he/she wants to go with the uniforms.
