I want to learn how to do this so that it will seem like I'm singing with an orchestra/band behind me. It seems like it's not quite the same when you compose and arrange on the computer, though. Is there any realistic sounding program that I could use....that's not too difficult? I would really appreciate it if you could give me a source that fits my description!

You can download Finale Notepad for free! It is simple to use and looks professional when printed. You can change keys by the click of a button!

well,i'm a pro guitarist/arranger/producer for many years and i mostly use steinberg's Nuendo 3 (Cubase 3x or SONAR PRODUCER 4x are very similar and cheaper).you will also need a good (semi-professional)sound card a midi keyboard and a virtual sampler for more realistic sound results(HALION,KONTAKT & SAMPLE TANK are great for example). For sheet music you can use FINALE but SIBELIUS 3 is by far the best.Hope you got a mic for recording audio(vox,ac.guitars etc).doesn't need to be expensive.not anymore.Be patient & read help & manuals for every single move.be sure about the song structure/atmoshrere/range before you start arranging it(if it doesn't sound cool to your ears when played by just a guitar or piano or acapella it ain't gonna sound MUCH better played by the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra-trust me).I wish you luck & creativity.-
