I tend not too be herd-like harsh on Spears's look.
Simple reason is that she has become a public target and it is obvious she is going through some really serious problems.
If you were view by everyone, Big Huge Eyes all around the little fish bowl you were in, at every move you'd make, plus had a broken fin, or something on your scales that would throw an extra "WOW" to the attention, already exaggeratedly given you . . HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
If I were that fish with an obvious problem - and had a bunch d full of Lookers centering in, targeting me, for no other reason that they had nothing to do, I'd hide my self from sight in the little treasure my coffer in the bowl . . and place some curtains at its' door and window.
Or if I were more brazen, and NOT worried about the continuance of my career, always in some way dependent on the public, for Man's sake, I'd stick my tongue out, spit at the on-lookers in the eye and advice them to kiss my TAIL!

Being bald may work for Sinead O'Connor, Natalie Portman, and Demi Moore, but Britney is better off which as much stuff in or on her head as she can get.

I think it's fantastic! If people criticised my hair HOWEVER which way I put it, I think I'd shave it off too! I heard she had nits and the extentions she had put in meant she couldn't comb her hair through so she had to shave it off...
I don't think she's crazy; This is SO typical of the way women are viewed in todays society - they say we're equal to man, but then, if a woman shaves her hair of she MUST BE crazy! Of course! Gah!
This annoys me.
edit: why is it, that a man can do what he wants with his hair (long, shaved, dreaded - WHATEVER) but a woman shaves off her hair and suddenly she's "insane" or gay or whatever else - Our society today is so radiculasly patrachal - still!

I always thought she looked prettier with her long hair, but I guess the main thing is that she seems troubled now, so we should give her a break with all the crazy things she's doing lately.
