I was making dinner last night and got attacked by bacon grease on my arm. It's about 2" wide and an inch and a half high. Burned like the dickens even after I ran water over it. Then I took my crumble cake out of the oven and some of the butter and sugar landed on exactly the same spot as the bacon grease. Double yeooow! It's not burned bad enough to go to the hospital and is just barely at the "i could blister but maybe I don't want to stage". But it really hurts because it's on the inside of my forearm and nothing's killing the pain. Does anyone have any ideas what i can do to make it feel better?

What your skin needs now is something to replace the moisture lost by the burn, and something to aid in the healing. Vitamin E oil, applied directly to the burn will help. You can get those Vitamin E gel caps and cut them open to get the oil. Aloe Vera plant sap will also help. My mom uses these remedies and they do work, for pain relief and for scarless healing. The fact that your burn hurts is a good sign, actually, as it means the nerves are not damaged.
Get better soon!

I had second and possibly third degree burns on my wrist from boiling soup that spilled and never went to the hospital. Neosporin has two different types of neosporin, one with pain reliever in it and it helped me enormously, and it will also help keep infection away.

Silver sulfadiazine. You need to see a doctor to get it. It will cool the burn and ease the pain. It's an antibiotic ointment and will also help prevent infection.

apart from running it under cold water you could try putting after sun cream on it to cool it down. don't rub it in, just place it on thickly and leave it to soothe the burn.

You should have put ice on it as soon as it happened to minimize damage. You still can, just do not over ice and get frostbite. That and some aspirin should help.
