I don't know where that is, but if you look too hard for anything you might find something you don't want. If your town is really small then you should move. Or instead of looking at the outside get to know someone close to your area off the internet. And you might find that there was someone there all alone, and you just judged by appearance.

It's hard to find a girlfriend in Sutton because it's a gay town. Only men live there.

if you're talking about Sutton in Surrey then I suppose because it is full of very chavvy girls, hanging around in groups, acting tough and scaring away the local boys.
Presumably they're hanging around complaining about how difficult it is to get a boyfriend, unaware that their whole demeanour and hanging about in a group is intimidating every boy in sight.
