The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion is a FPS with swingable swords. It's only for the PC, XBOX 360 and soon on the PS3. It was also the best RPG of 06

It doesn't exists. FPS stands for first person shooter. Do you expect to shoot a sword?

There are several first person view games where you can swing a sword. Oblivion, obviously. There's King's Field 1 and 2 for the PSX.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Really good graphics. Uses same engine as Half Life 2

Red Steel, for Wii. It's a much better game than reviews would have you believe. Also, the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast is a first person shooter that lets you use a lightsaber in third person.

Shadowrun, which will be released in June or so for 360 and PC, allows you to wield a katana... but it brings you into a third person view when you do so in order to let you see better. It's a system that works very well.
