Can we all agree that the planet has been much warmer in the past? If so how is a warmer planet somehow wrong or dangerous?

the earth started our very hot, it had a methane atmosphere with CO2 in abundance...and thank god because thats what sprung forth life.

Over time, like a long time, the amosphere became oxygenated by plant life and sea life algea etc.

THe earth is always changing and allways will. A single volcanic eruption puts out more greenhouse gasses than man has created in the last 200 years.

But note, we've had volcanic eruptions forever. The earth finds a balance, it's a self perpetuating system, Ice ages come and go...and that's ok..

Even if there was global warming....most studies show it to be a good thing, More areas would have longer growing seasons, rich farmland covered in ice at higher lattitudes would become farmable. We all worry to much.

NO! I don't think that our planet used to be warmer. In contrast, it used to be less hotter and much colder. At present time, the planet is 2 times warmer than it used to be because of all the Carbon Dioxide that we are producing with our cars and factories. If we don't do something right now, our planet will die and everything else with it.

The planet has been warmer -- and also much colder. The difference is that WE weren't around to suffer the consequences of it all before, only animals were. Many of them went extinct. WE don't want to.

Warmer planets dangerous? You mean, besides melting ice caps and flooded coastal cities?

I can't comprehend how that could possibly be bad.

Now, sure, it's happened in the past. But the fact is we didn't have to deal with it, we didn't have to deal with the results of it, temperatures had never risen in the past with the speed that they are rising now, and they weren't attributable to human activity (the entire temperature increase worldwide over the last 100 years is solely attributable to human activity).

So, yeah, it's wrong, and it's dangerous.

I know it sounds like a dull movie but watch Al Gore's "An inconvenient truth"

This movie kept me up a few nights just thinking about my future and my future children.
It will show you the undeniable truth that the world is indeed warning up and what these effects have and will continue to do.

It will be very detrimental to our health sooner than you think.

Watch this film with an open mind ( i know gore is a bore but he has a good message with scientific proof)

I think that the Earth was cooler in the past...due to the increasing percentage of carbon dioxixe trapped in the upper layer of the atmosphere, the temperature of the earth is rising...greenhouse effect...
