because they forgoot the true meaning of being a friend. you have to be there for a friend through thick and thin, good or bad, happy or sad. never tell them what they want to hear, and if it has to be the truth do it with compassion or turn the tables around and put yourself in their place and imagine how he/she is feeling and then think of how to phrase it to them. but a good friend is always there,

Personally, I have to think that friends are going away for two reasons.

1) The "LOOK" people always want to be popular, whether they are in middle school or 'grown up'. They get so consumed by that, that they don't "have time" for friends anymore, instead of making time.

2) The whole "gay/bi" thing is probably what bothers people. Being a best friend doesn't mean you're gay, but that's the way lots of people see it nowadays.

Sometimes its your own personality, sometimes it is the type of friends you are choosing.
If you are having trouble keeping friends, take a long, hard, honest look at yourself. Work on taking responsibility for what you say and do, how you approach different subjects that come up, what type of person you really are. When you have done this and know in your heart that you are a good person who is working to make yourself and your life better and are still losing friends, take a good hard look at the TYPE of friends you are attracting. Figure out if there is another type of person you would rather be around, someone who shares your ideals of life, and search for that type of person.

I want to know too, because it is hard to make a friend these days because everyone is afraid, alot of people use people, and it is hard to find a true friend, one you can trust and one that does not get mad at you for no reason, and one that will listen to all your problems and still understand, that is hard to find a person like this.

Because when you have friends you only have more problems in your life because you cant trust anyone anymore because people are out for them selves. My friends are my husband, children and parents and thats it! I beleive that everyone has one true friend but who wants t o spend the rest of their life looking for them?

People move away, grow apart... as you age you'll find you have fewer, don't share the same interests, except maybe 1 or 2 and that's all u need :)

Because a lot of people are too scared to really be themselves. Or people talk too much B.S. But there are some people who are real. You just have to trust people. Don't be afraid.

Because they get so caught up in their own lives that they don't have the time to do the things that they used to do when they were younger.. you grow up and you get more responsibilities than you once had. therefore eliminating the friends.

I have friends.

As in, I have an exceedingly close bond with two people, I do everything with them, I trust them with my life.

What else is a friend?
