How can i make my folder 'invisible'? not hidden. invisible...?

saw a video of it somewhere once. they renamed the folder with 4 numbers while pressing the shift key if i remember it correctly and then there was just a blank at where the name was supposed to be. then they changed the folder icon to an empty one. then presto, its there but invisible. i tried it out once and it worked. just cant remember how it was done! should've written it down somewhere. anyone know? think i saw the video on spikedhumor.com

yes serach in google there are a lot of programs such as folder lock
