"They" are reporting that there's a "Simon Cowell" effect whereby web-sites have been set up so people vote for Sunjaya because Simon said he'll quit the show if Sunjaya wins. Then there's the "Howard Stern effect" because Howard has been plugging all of his listeners to vote for Sunjaya as a cruel joke because he's awful. The interesting thing that EVERYONE is talking about, but yet "they" won't report properly is the "INDIAN EFFECT." "THEY" discarded this one saying that people in India could not be voting for Sunjaya because the show airs in India after the voting lines have closed.

How many people agree that it's the INDIANS HERE IN THE US that are voting??? COME ON, isn't it very obvious? He's cute, but he can't sing or dance!

The Indian population here in the states is showing off their power (and don't underestimate it!) in numbers! There's a method to the madness!

Do you think he'll win?

I think last night the answer was given. When that English guy who was working for the guys said "Sorry Simon but this is not a singing competition it is a voting competition." Simon's face was pissed off and all he had to say later on in the show is "This SHOULD be a singing competition." He is right, he used the word should because he knows it is not. If they are people trying to get Simon to leave the show, they want American Idol to stop because he makes the show what it is, THE TRUTH. Paula is a joke and is worthless for an opinion. I think the reason Sunjaya was in the top 12 in the first place is because there is pressure to make sure the group looks and sounds diverse enough. He was not the best singer, but if they choose him for the top 12 it make American Idol look like they accept everyone (secretly hoping America will not let them (him) get to the top 12. We see this every year where good people are leaving and bad ones are staying, sunjaya just tops all seasons. Can anyone really see themselves at a concert listening to this bafoon??? Don't think so!

I dont think the "Indian Effect" has anything to do with it, there arent very many Indians here in America....As for the "Howard Effect", the jokes on them because you'll just have to listen to him longer, and the "Simon effect", Simon created the show, hes not gonna walk off it....besides, when your judging people who cant sing but for some reason think they can (like Sunjaya) you need someone who is blatantly honest. There might be something to the "Tween Effect" theory tho, I just cant see anyone else voting for him...

i dont think he will win. as to the "indian effect" come on you guys, indians are maybe 1/100 of the entire population.
sanjaya does not have a very strong stage presence at all.
i am not for simon cowell but he is precisely right, sanjaya is
a very very weak contender.

Damn, I haven't been tuning in so thanks for the update. Maybe there is a "INDIAN EFFECT", but I personally feel like its a bunch of people to get Simon off the show like you said before. That would be entirely to funny!!!!!: )

I thought it was people calling Dell for customer support and getting the "vote for gayjaya" hotline instead.
