You are the result of your own thinking...if there is darkness around you then you believe that there is darkness around you therefore you are a part of that darkness due to cause and effect. By recognizing that you feel a part of the darkness you are verifying its existence, by recognizing that you are also part of the light around you then you are verifying its existence. By feeling a part of the light that surrounds you the darkness will vanish because two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time.....

Of course, but remembering to stay in balance. The darkness is an essential part to the human experience. That's why it's often the subject of literature, music, etc. We grow from the darkness. We grow from the light too. If you're referring to darkness as a down side of life, then remember that growth happens in the valleys, not on the mountaintops.

Yes, and we must enbrace both the darkness and the lightness of our being - it is what makes us a species capable of love and tenderness, yet also capable of the worst atrocities imaginable.

I guess that is what you are asking - either that or you mean the "actual" darkness of nightime - you can feel yourself sort of meld with the darkness at night as you drift off to sleep or when you mind is in the proper "enhanced" state.

Yea, I really do, figuratively and literally sometimes...

This is different from the experience above but I just got an image of the Yin Yang symbol: sometimes I feel like I'm that tiny white dot surrounded by black, n sometimes I'm the black dot surrounded by white.

Never... my distinct entity that I am constantly aware of, doesn't dissolve either in the darkness or in floodlights.... I feel quite separate from any surroundings I get into.... perhaps it is no good to be highly self conscious but that is the way I am.

The light wouldn't shine so bright and intense, if it were not for the sake of all that darkness that surrounds us.

In there universe there is darkness everywhere except where there is light. If you are alive, you have a light in you and would seeing the darkness and feeling it is natural. Light does highlight the darkness.

Yes, especially when I'm lying in bed late at night (or early in the morning!) and just can't drop off to sleep. Then everything gets a bit blurred and the edges go fuzzy in the dark. (But maybe that's because I've taken off my glasses?)

oh yes... often, I never turn on the lights and i enjoy the comforts that can only be provided by the dark. I don't shy away from light, the sun is warm, giving and will blind you but the dark is comforting and embraces. but you must remember that... without light there can be no dark and without darkness there can be no light

I assume you mean darkness as in evil, against ethics of human life....whatever....yea, I am very much a part of it, knowingly or unknowingly. No matter how much I may try, I dont know how far I will not be involved.

But then, I absolutely agree with reccmike, we choose what we want dont we ? like he says ''both have their places in our lives''
