I want to learn to play the piano and I was wondering what the keyes are and were they are located. I was learning a song this weekend and want to remember the notes/ keys I was playing

They keys on a piano correspond to the 12 chromatic divisions of the octave in western civilization. The divisions are equal-tempered, unlike other instruments. That is to say that each semi-tone is tuned exactly the same throughout the octave. The keys are located typically in front of the instrument in an area easily accessible to the performer from a seated position. The keys are arranged in a pattern of lower keys (usually white in color) and upper (usually black in color). The size of the keys is related to the size of the human hand.

I recommend that you go to a local music store and pick up and easy piano book. You can get one for pretty cheap. Unfortunately I don't have any good ones to recommend. Ask a sales person, and he/she should be able to help you out.
