I would make sure to get plenty of rest. I had the same thing happen to me. I was soooooooooo mean when I was pregnant. It is really uncontrollable. I wanted to hit people as well as yell at them. I would just make sure to tell your husband/partner that it is just hormonal and not to take it personally and make sure he is understanding. Good luck!

I just recently had a baby and went through the same mood swings. First of all, take into account that you're not alone and it is quite normal to go from one extreme to the next because of the hormone overload your body is dealing with. Don't beat yourself up about it because that will make the anxiety of it all just build up. Second, talk to your doctor to make sure the particular feelings you're having are normal and if they are from depression he may be able to give you something to help cope with it. Eliminate any extra stress and pamper and take care of yourself. Try to stay focused on what is to come(that is your beautiful baby) and that may help divert some of those urges to lose it. It may not seem this way to you right now, but all the attention you hate getting right now is from people who are fascinated with your current condition and/or want to care for you. Life is short and one day you'll look back fondly at this time in your life, so try to enjoy it while it last.

There are two routes you can go- you can ask your OB to please prescribe you something mild for the anxiety, or you can try to curb the mood swings yourself.
I've previously done both.
Before you get to the point you want to scream, say to yourself "time out." - Not easy at first. When I first tried it, I seriously thought "this is so dumb..."
Then I realized I hated the person I was becoming and wanted to curb the attitude before it became a problem. So I'd ask myself, "why do I want to go off on my husband....?"
(For instance this morning)
I want to go off on my husband because he didn't walk the dog this morning and so she had an accident in the house.
Ok. Decent reason.
How is 'going off' on him going to effect us?
Well... he's going to get pissed off probably and thats going to make me more pissed off, and the kids will be able to tell we are both in a ticked off mood. Eh... better not go off on him.
So, instead- I approached him, obviously annoyed and told him that he needed to clean up after his dog. He immediately took care of the situation.
Hormone overkill- completely avoided.
However, that wasn't always the case. Once you learn how to control yourself better, you will feel so so much better. Plus- you'll feel even more empowered knowing that you have the ability to control yourself. Your husband or significant other will also appreciate your attempts and eventual successes at keeping yourself in check. (So will your friends and family!)
Goooood LUCK. I am 22 1/2 weeks along with twins and there are days I cannot believe that I havent committed murder yet lol. (j/k people!)

Its hard when you are pregnant and its kinda liek a 24-7 PMS, at least it was for me. I just tried to take a deep breath and everytime you want to yell at someone, take a drink of water, that way you cant yell while its in your mouth and at the same time you are helping you and your baby by keeping hydrated!

Yes. Zoloft. I had such terrible mood swings, along with crying alot, And my obstertician said, "Girl, you need something for that." So she put me on Zoloft and I have to admit it really helped. And don't worry, there are no side effects that would cause harm to you or your unborn child. Just make sure you get it approved through your doc.

Just stay in the house.wait till you have more than one and all they do is fight
I just read one of the other answers. PLEASE do Not take ANY antidepressants. I am bi-polar and got off all my med when I was pregnant. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN OUT LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW ALL the LONG TERM EFFECTS. Look what happened to all those women whos mothers took D.E.S.when they were pregnant. A much higher% than normal developed ( I believe it was )cervical cancer when they became women. Beleive me it will get better,do you really wantto take ANY chances with the life of your beautiful baby?

HAHA!!! Darling...this is completely normal!!! I am 37 weeks preggers...and I have had mood swings since I found out I was pregnant!!! I know it is hard to get through them...but you just have to have patience with yourself. My poor husband has been through it all...I think I yell at him for breathing to loud sometimes!!! He just has to deal with it!!! I hate to tell you but as you get further along...you will be worse. Later in the 35 weeks mark...life just sucks!! You hate everyone and everything!!!
Just try to relax...dotn get mad at yourself if you go off on someone...trust me they know you are preggers, and will forgive you!!!

Make sure you are eating healthy and taking your vitamins, this will help curve those mood swings, but just so you know.... this is completely normal. Your hormones are all out of wack. It will pass.

Before screaming, count backwards from 25.
think happy, positive thoughts .. and always remember your baby is listening to you!
when you yell, scream, and squawk, your baby hears that! your heart rate and blood pressure goes up .. so does there's!
thats what has kept me on an even pace :)
congrats on the baby! good luck! God bless!
