That drives me crazy. It seems like the healthier the food, the more expensive it is. It doesn't seem quite fair that the more money you have, the healthier food you can grab on the run.

I think the reason is that people are willing to pay a premium for healthy food that is conveniently packaged. We could certainly make our own, but who has time for that. I'll go into the grocery store and pay extra to buy sushi with brown rice for lunch versus driving thru McDonalds.

"Hold the meat" should never cost more, unless it's a place that has a clear policy where there is a surcharge for customized food. McDonalds and Taco Bell do NOT have a surcharge for removing items.

However, if you ask them to ADD something ("instead of the meat, give me another slice of cheese"), then you will be charged extra. Fast food places do NOT give you credit for items you remove.

So, if you're being charged extra for "hold the meat," then something is totally wrong. I've been to places like this with vegetarians and they never charge extra to hold. Just to add.

Roast potatoes are oftentimes cooked in meat fat, so as that is no solid. additionally, i think of they quite rightly anticipate that purely greens and roast potatoes is a touch boring meal and so greens does not prefer that, and that they make the attempt to create a extra interesting vegetarian dish instead.

Probably because that causes the workers to think a little bit and nobody wants to think; just serve food and make money
