its up to you... personally, i dont swim during my period even though i use tampons... a lot of people say that it is not hygenic. The tampon can still absorb water from the pool/sea therefore it can cause infections

That is the beauty of the tampon. They are made so that women can remain activie during her period and not have to wear those cumbersome pads.

Yes you can....it seems like everytime there is a birthday at a water park im onm my period and they tell me that i should go put on a tanpon and there will be no pain or cramps....its a way of excersing

yes you can. Make sure you change it right after you leave the water, but it's perfectly safe to swim with one on- you won't get sick, and it won't leak

You can't...They make special ones to swim in but...I don't think anyone really wants to wear those!
