I have all the finances to take care of the little fellow. I will go through the standard measures to do whatever it takes to buy a penguin. I know theres laws and codes but does anyone know how and where I could fulfill my dream?

I plan on moving to a better climate for this purpose. I have the financial means and im not just going to keep it in my house. I'd build an oasis for it and its friends as well as hire workers to help w/ the feeding and cleaning as I'm sure that would be a task!

i havent found much info for that, i did find this site that has live penguin listed for sale, it also lists a number at the bottom . so maybe you can call it an ask them what you would do to get a penguin, other then that you may have to do heavy researching an asking around. an if you have money to spare maybe a trip to a place where penguins live. if you live in a area where you need a permit to have an exotic pet you should probibly get that out of the way before even bothering.

p.s. a more obtainable cute route may be a fennec fox

For a start, not all penguins will live in captivity. I don't think anyone has kept emperors or adelies. Penguins are not "little fellows" they are large birds with powerful beaks. Even the little penguin, the smallest of them, is aggressive.

If you were to go to a site where penguins breed in the wild and help yourself, you would be breaking many laws, including international laws, by doing so.

Why not donate your money to a zoo that already has penguins and a breeding program? It would be more useful there.

Yeah Antarctica would be your best bet. Since its very unlikely that a zoo will give you one. Of course there are penguins in other places in the world. But if you have your heart set on an Emperor Penguin, then Antarctica is the place to go.

P.S. If you do go to Antarctica make sure you grab a baby, I'm sure the adults will be a little bitey!

Sorry hon-you can't see the following:

Can I have a penguin as a pet?
No, all the species of penguin found in New Zealand and in most other countries are protected species and it is thus illegal for individuals to hold them in captivity.

Penguins are also difficult for an individual to keep in captivity. They require large quantities of top-quality fish and access to water for swimming. The penguin species found in New Zealand do not readily domesticate, that is they have to be force-fed and usually try to bite your fingers off at every opportunity!

As you have read-Penguins are a protected species.
Instead of getting one as a pet-how about this idea:
Take some of your wealth and donate to those groups that work very hard to protects these critters? Your local zoo would gladly appreciate that too. They might let you adopt one but they keep it in zoo and you pay for the upkeep.
Dreams are wonderful things but some should just remain dreams. I would like a ruffed black & white Lemur as a pet but I settle for just painting pictures of them-I'm a wildlife artist.
Please reconsider.

Here's what to do! Go to Antartica, capture a penguin, disguise it as your grandmother, take it back home and feed it fish and buy it it's own leather sofa or it will run away! If it escapes, lure it back by setting fire to a piece of mackerel tied to a piece of wood! If the police find you out, tell them it's a magic penguin that teleported here! I guarantee this will work!

that is great ,do you have an artificial South pole in your garden ,and they eat a lot of fresh fish everyday
to fullfill your dream you must dream about living in the South pole ,get some warm clothes ,and a lot of food (dont get frozen food )because there is nothing there.
