is there a way to set it up to where the history does not show up on the search bar?

In FireFox, go to tools, options, click on the privacy tab, next uncheck "remember what I enter in forms and the search bar". This should prevent previous histories from showing.

go to internet options and set history to 0 days. If you cannot find the setting then go to the help topics.

I find it easier just to erase it.Goto tools /Browser options/ then clear URL or search.(XP operating system)

open internet browser look tor tools or options poke around in there
