Fly to Burlington Vermont and rent a car there and drive to Montreal and celebrate Canada Day there. It is like the 4TH of July here.
If you drive over the boarder you will not need a passport, but a photo ID and a birth certificate would be good to have with you.
Hope she has a Happy Birthday.

Wow - what a wide open question. I could name millions of places lol. If you are wanting to stay in the states, and she likes beaches then try the Keys. The US Virgin Islands will alsway be one of my faves as well. If she does not like the heat, maybe Northern CA, or even New England...Mystic CT is beautiful. Or Maine. Find a nice B&B and treat her right!!!

Niagra Falls treated us wonderfully. There are some really nice hotels in Toronto which isn't too far. We flew out of Michigan.

You are being a bit vague. Flying to where??

A excellent rated victorian bed and breakfast place is a real treat (as long as it is in an interesting town).

Visit the Napa Valley, it is a very beautiful, and romantic setting, with great views, and restaurants.

california.. since it's in the summer.. you can visit huntington beach.. beautiful weather in the summer.. and there might be surf competition too.. =) also, you can take her to a romantic dinner at orange hill (beautiful view) at night only though.. and you have to dress formal in order to get in... =)
