Any medication prescribed with p.r.n beside it means it's to be taken when required. You'll usually find it will say p.r.n. but no more than (x) in 24 hours.

It means on patient request and relates to medication. So you may be taking one drug all the time but there may be another drug that is marked prn. which means the patient can request it if they feel they need it.

It's a medical term.
like if you have a fever then you have to take your antipyretic meds prn as prescribed by the physician . (--,)
