And register with the big temp agencies (Kelly, Manpower, Spherion, etc) Even if you don't want to "temp" they can look for temp-to-perm positions.

If you went to a school with a career center - contact them.

If you have a specialty, find a networking group that may help. (Not much if you are an AA, but even if it's in a specialty field (I used to be in Semiconductors) you can find places that are interested in that background.)
