I used to be a mobile truck trailer mechanic. I'd go out and fix customer and fleet trucks and trailers on the highway. No doubt you've seen those trucks with flashing lights on the side of the highway by broken down rigs? Any way, I always stopped when a car was broken down and helped them with a tire change or a boost. I have the tools at hand, why not help them out. People almost always pulled out their wallets and asked for how much. I just waved them off and carried on with my day. It's all about the Karma.

I actually helped a blind man across the street once - I was at the bank and saw him struggling to find the exit, all the cashiers were just standing there watching him which *really* pissed me off.. so I took his arm and led him out, he then told me he needed to catch a bus somewhere so I crossed him over the road and flagged down the right bus for him! He was such a nice guy :-) also helped a drunk woman who'd passed out in the street once, everyone was walking past her because they smelt alcohol but when I stopped to talk to her she said she'd just lost her husband and wasn't sure that she could carry on.. I walked her towards her house then we bumped into a relative of hers who took over. But yeah, I always say treat others the way you'd like to be treated, you never know when it's gonna be you that needs help!

I was working Happy Hour at a sports bar. I was waiting on a lady that seemed very sad. I said, "Hey, it's Happy Hour, SMILE!!" And she told me that she was about to move and she had a pet rabbit that she couldn't take along, and she couldn't find a home for him, so I took him. I said "Well, if you smile, I will take him." It was 5 years ago and I still have him.

I helped an old woman up from a flight of stairs when she had slipped a bit. Just didn't have it in her to pull herself up.
